Frequently Asked Dental Questions

Frequently Asked Questions :

Is it going to hurt?

After hearing too many stories from patients about their bad experiences in dental offices, Dr. Z pledges and commits to make your visit as pain free and comfortable as possible.

Lots of people are fearful of “shots.” Over the years, Dr. Z has developed techniques to make dental injections much easier than in the past. Often we hear patients say, “Was that the shot? I hardly felt it.”

How much will this cost?

We are very sensitive to the cost of dental care. There are always different treatment options available to you—some more expensive and some less. After your examination, Dr. Z can discuss treatment that will meet your needs and fit your budget. Payment plans are available through Care Credit and Chase along with discounts for cash and credit cards. Most major credit cards accepted.

Will you give an estimate of my treatment?

Yes. After your dental examination, Dr. Zerivitz will tell you his findings and discuss treatment with you. We provide written estimates before we start your care.

Do you have payment plans or discounts?

Yes. We use Care Credit and Chase for flexible payment plans. You can apply on-line or in the office. We also offer pre-payment discounts of 5% for cash, checks, and credit cards.

Are you in a PPO or HMO plan?

We welcome everyone, even though we are not in any PPO or HMO plans. If you have a PPO plan, we are an "out-of-network provider” and usually qualify for some insurance benefits. Bring your insurance information to your first appointment so we can help you maximize your benefits.

How long until I can get an appointment?

Our work days are scheduled so that we can see emergencies quickly and stay on time for patients with reserved appointments. We try to see patients with dental emergencies on the day that they call (normal business hours). Non-emergency patients can usually reserve an appointment within one week. Call 386. 574-5201 for an appointment.

Do you see emergency patients?

Dr. Z feels that patients with a true dental emergency should not have to wait for many days to be seen. He is one of the few dentists to put his home phone number on the office answering machine. So, you won’t have to wait weeks to get an appointment. Call (386) 574-5201 for an appointment.

Can you put me to sleep?

We do offer sedation—just not deep sedation. We have oral medicines (pills) that will relax you, but don’t carry the risk of deep sedation or general anesthesia.

Do you treat children?

Our youngest patients average age is 14 years. We are flexible with this policy.

Does Dr. Zerivitz provide all kinds of dentistry?

We offer most types of general dentistry to our patients, including root canal therapy and extractions. If you need specialty care, we have good long-term relations with local board-certified specialists.

How do you sterilize the dental tools?

Instruments and tools are sterilized in a steam autoclave that is tested monthly by an independent laboratory. We also use lots of disposable supplies to ensure hospital-grade cleanliness and sterilization.

Is Dr. Zerivitz the only dentist in the office?

Yes. This is a solo dental practice and he devotes all of his time to this one Deltona FL office.

Is he a good dentist?
